London group have shared their debut album ‘In Purgatory’ in full.

The band tap into 80s indie pop aspects, with a shimmering beauty to their guitar lines. There’s a sense of raw energy in there, too, while World News also treat their lyrics with a comedic aspect.

Taut, infectious storytelling, World News may be bright and colourful on the surface, but the songs have real depth – think grief, break ups, and the ennui of modern living.

At its core, however, ‘In Purgatory’ is about sharing those feelings, and learning to move on. The band comment…

“There’s no definitive theme that sums up In Purgatory – but there are references to death, depression, break ups, and how life can sometimes feel like you’re swimming in a pool of vinegar. However, there is also a comedic approach to these sentiments, and the notion that there is always hope.”

Tune in now.
