While Vigil season 1 took place on a submarine, and the second season took the characters to the fictional Middle Eastern country of Wudyan, season 3 features a new, frosty location.
The season sees Amy and Kirsten flying abroad to investigate a murder and prevent a potential international confrontation.
But where did the cast, including Suranne Jones, Rose Leslie and a whole host of newcomers, head off to this time, and what have they said about the production on season 3?

Vigil season 3: Where was it filmed?
Like seasons 1 and 2, filming on Vigil season 3 took place in Scotland. However, unlike those previous runs the production also went to the .
Speaking with Radio Times, the show's creator Tom Edge explained why he decided to set to series on Svalbard, explaining that he wanted to look at "coming clash points" in geopolitics.
"One of the areas that seemed interesting was the frozen north, in the context of shifting geopolitics and struggles over resource access," he said.
"Svalbard is Norwegian in terms of sovereignty, but it operates under a very unusual international treaty which allows people of any nation to live and work there, but no nation is allowed to have a military force there. Because of this, it has become a potential flashpoint for confrontation."
Edge explained that "it was a very challenging shoot at times" on Svalbard.
"Once the temperature drops, the batteries that run modern film cameras start to fail," he revealed. "There are an enormous number of challenges working in that environment. Even some more sedate scenes were really hard won by the crew. Some might say it was easier to blow something up than to spend half a day filming a conversation that happens out in the snow."
Edge also said that Svalbard has one of the highest numbers of polar bears in the world, but as they are "notoriously uncooperative", they were not featured in the filming at all.
Meanwhile, in another interview for the series, Jones called filming on Svalbard "amazing".
"Rose and I felt like we were just on top of the world because we went to places that tourists don’t normally visit since we were filming in such remote locations," she said. "There were reindeer outside the breakfast room every morning, we got to drive the snow buggies, and we really had to layer up - the problem was when we got back to Glasgow we were too hot because we still had to film with all our layers on!
"The people and the crew in Svalbard were incredible and we tried some moose and reindeer, which is part of the local cuisine – I had moose stew! Overall, it was such an incredible experience and a great start to the shoot."
Leslie said that "it was so lovely to be back in Glasgow" for the filming in Scotland. "Having grown up there, I have such a deep fondness for Scotland," she said.
"It was also very thrilling to be so far north for filming in Svalbard. The landscape was luna, or what I imagine the moon would look like. I felt so fortunate to experience almost complete isolation on the mountain tops. We had really bulky snowsuits which kept us nice and warm, along with the feet warmers and woolly hats."

Leslie continued: "On our first day we really were on a boat - it was me, Jeppe (Henrik) and Tornike (Fyodor), sailing for two hours towards a glacier. Then we went into the cabin all feeling seasick - but that’s one way to bond!
"We were in the cabin, chatting away and asking lots of questions and getting to know and understand each other. Jeppe and Tornike have a similar sense of humour, so they were quite the double act, and it was a joy to observe it all when the three of us were on set together."
