It's time to head back to The Traitors castle, as a second season of the celebrity edition gets underway.
It's been almost a year since Alan Carr duped the Faithful and won the show, and around eight months since Traitors duo Stephen and Rachel made it to the very end as Traitors in an incredible tense round table.
However, there is plenty more action on the way as 21 celebrities make their way to the Scottish Highlands. Since the series launched in 2022, it hasn't just been the action that has kept fans hooked, but also the series' stunning location, which sees the celebrity contestants call a grand castle home for a few weeks.
From the grand dining room where the contestants find out who’s been banished and the dark room where round-table debates lead to hotly-contested banishments, to the beautiful surrounding forests, glens and peaks, the setting is certainly impressive. But where is it located?

Where is The Celebrity Traitors filmed?

The Celebrity Traitors is filmed in the Scottish Highlands, with the contestants spending their time in – a 19th century venue, located 25 miles north of Inverness.
The Scottish Baronial-style location has over 100 acres of parkland on the bank of the River Alness, and was previously a hunting lodge for the 1st Duke of Sutherland.
It is now owned by the McTaggart family, who bought the property in 1983 and restored the gardens and estate.
If you fancy recreating your own game of The Traitors, Ardross Castle is available to rent out for luxury corporate retreats and as a wedding venue – you can find more information on the Ardross Castle website.

On filming in Scotland, host Claudia Winkleman said that she has "never been anywhere more beautiful" than the Highlands.
"It felt sometimes like we were in a painting, if that's not too cheesy," she said. "On day two, we saw a double rainbow, and everyone was like, 'Oh my gosh,' and the crew were crying, there were baby deer, there was beautiful heather, there were ancient trees and an ancient loch. We were all taking pictures.
"I FaceTimed my kids to say, 'You've never seen anything like it, it's magical.' And then, by day four, there had been another three double rainbows. I mean, by the end of the three weeks, where we had seen 50, it was like, 'I don’t care.' But it’s just the most beautiful landscape."
Can you stay in the castle from The Traitors?

Unfortunately, Ardross Castle is not open to the general public.
However, it is possible to hire the venue, which boasts more than 30 rooms, for a wedding or corporate event.
Activities including fly fishing on the River Alness, mountain bike hire and guided walks on the grounds of the estate.
The Celebrity Traitors begins on Thursday 1 October at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
