Port Vale begin life back in League Two at Oldham Athletic on Saturday afternoon.
The Vale suffered an instant return to the fourth tier after failing to get to grips with life in League One and changing managers en route to relegation last term.
Jon Brady has reshaped his squad ahead of the new campaign and will be hoping to kick off the campaign with all three points after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Wolves in the first round of the Carabao Cup last week.
Oldham enjoyed a solid return to League Two in 2025/26 as they finished 10th a year after winning promotion from the National League.
The Latics also crashed out of the Carabao Cup at the first hurdle to Championship opposition after a 2-0 loss at Vale's bitter rivals Stoke last weekend.
