Manchester United host Roma in the Champions League at Old Trafford on Tuesday night with Michael Carrick under immense pressure.
The Red Devils lost 2-0 at Chelsea on Saturday afternoon, with Lisandro Martinez being the main culprit for letting Carrick down this time thanks to his red card, meaning United are winless in their last nine games in all competitions.
That hasn't happened to United since 1988 and while Carrick was given the club's backing last week, another defeat at Old Trafford could see the former midfielder given his marching orders.
United, who are 17th in the Premier League and above the relegation zone based on goal difference, are 21st in the Champions League table having lost their last two outings against Atletico Madrid and Como.
Roma remain unbeaten in Serie A this season (won seven, drawn three) with Gian Piero Gasperini's side scoring a league-high 28 goals.
Roma have won one, drawn one and lost one of their three Champions League outings so far to leave them 15th in the table but they'll fancy their chances of beating United given their current circumstances.
