Rotherham United start life back in League Two with a trip to Cheltenham Town on Saturday.
The Millers finished 22nd in League One last season to drop into the fourth tier of English football for the first time since 2013.
New York Stadium chiefs have turned to Alex Bruce, the son of Steve, to stop the rot and the new gaffer will be hoping last Saturday's 4-1 Carabao Cup defeat to Championship West Brom isn't a sign of things to come.
Cheltenham, meanwhile, are among the favourites for relegation after limping home a lowly 18th in League Two in 2025/26.
The Robins were beaten 3-1 by Charlton in the first round of the Carabao Cup a week ago and boss Steve Cotterill heads into the campaign hoping someone can fill the void left by former loanee Isaac Hutchinson, who scored 15 goals to earn a place in the division's team of the season last term.
