My Chemical Romance brought out the ‘Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders’ during a performance of ‘Teenagers’ at The Hollywood Bowl.
The moment took place as the emo icons kicked off their five-night residency at the iconic venue on Wednesday night (October 21), celebrating the 20th anniversary of their hit album ‘The Black Parade’.
During the gig, they broke out the album in full alongside some of their other biggest tracks, and surprised fans during their rendition of ‘Teenagers’ by bringing out cheerleaders dressed like the Dallas Cowboys’ Cheerleaders.
It isn’t uncommon for the real DCC to make surprise appearances at concerts in the US – previously bringing their choreography to shows from Post Malone, Kacey Musgraves, Dolly Parton and more.
That being said, it wasn’t the actual group who appeared alongside Gerard Way and co. on the night, and the dance routine was noticeably different from the usual moves the DDC break out – with the performers at the Hollywood Bowl donning fake rifles and defending the band, before crawling off stage after “being shot”.

The ‘Long Live The Black Parade Tour’ has already seen MCR play in the UK and Europe, before heading over to North America. Their ongoing residency at the Hollywood Bowl makes them the first band to play five consecutive nights at the venue, and you can visit here for any remaining tickets to the next four shows.
To mark the anniversary of ‘The Black Parade’ the band have also released an expanded 20th anniversary reissue of the classic album, which includes six bonus tracks. Three of which are live recordings from the band’s gig at the 200-capacity Maxwell venue in Hoboken where they played in October 2007, and the other three are B-sides which were previously scattered across different releases.
They have also been hinting that a new album could be on the way. “Just know that, like, we’ve kind of really always wanted to make another record, so we hope that life allows us to do that,” Way told a crowd in San Antonio last month. “Because you guys, honestly, you guys kept us alive so long. You guys deserve another record. I don’t know when it’ll be. But it’ll be awesome.”
