Victor Ray Puts Himself First On ‘I Don’t Want It’

has shared his new single ‘I Don’t Want It’.

The Newcastle raised songwriter is a true artist, someone who built his identity from the ground up. Busking on the streets, a move to London bolstered his ambitions, with a series of EPs sending fans into raptures.

Signed to Fontana, new single ‘I Don’t Want It’ finds Victor Ray switching it up, taking his innate skills and operating from a fresh lane.

A song about taking a chance, and learning to put himself first, the lyrics frankly depict the closing phase of a relationship, as Victor comes to realise that the situation is no longer right for him.

Lyrically on-point but melodically refreshing and open, it marks the start of a new chapter.

“I wrote ‘I Don’t Want It’ about finally choosing me,” says Victor. “It comes after years of staying comfortable in a relationship that had deteriorated. Whether doing that is a selfish act or a selfless one is unclear, but there is a profound sense of freedom in knowing that this unhealthy version of love is something I just don’t want anymore.”

Tune in now.
