Harriet Dart and Francesca Jones are the only British players still in the singles draw at the US Open 2026.
All six men have failed to make it through the first two rounds of the hard-court Grand Slam, while Katie Boulter suffered a straight-sets defeat to Karolina Muchova on Wednesday.
With both Jack Draper and Emma Raducanu are missing due to injury, it always looked like a tough ask for the British contingent but the hopes of a home hope reaching the second week are fading fast.
Three British players have triumphed in Flushing Meadows over the years. Virginia Wade won the women's singles in 1968, Andy Murray won the men's singles in 2012, and Emma Raducanu triumphed in 2021.
All three won the first grand slam of their career in New York, which will offer hope to the latest homegrown players heading across the Atlantic.
