He's a cheerful guide to this bizarre city of hype, neon and casinos, checking out a hotel room with its own basketball court and blowing a hypothetical $20k on four hands of blackjack. Eventually, you understand both the excitement and the reservations engendered by the place.
The Secrets of Your Phone: They Don't Want You to Know

Are smartphones snooping on us? Because increasingly, it feels as if we're all buckling under an avalanche of personalised ads. The truth may be more disturbing: for all the hoo-ha, we're still supremely relaxed about handing over our "digital profiles". But we can, at least, erect some guardrails, as Alexis Conran discovers.

Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind. Will that help Stratford private eye duo Lu (Jo Joyner) and Frank (Mark Benton) when a heartsick client hires them to infiltrate a sensory-based matchmaking service? Judging by this opener, series six of the cosy crime drama is as fun as ever.
20 Years of Not Going Out

Lee Mack's domestic sitcom is turning 20 – a feat that seemed unlikely when it was cancelled in 2009. It was given a stay of execution thanks to audience pressure and has thrived ever since: according to this breezy documentary, the secret is its clever balance between modernity and tradition. Season 15 begins immediately after.

Emily and Peter have a bold rebuild plan that will replace their London home with a pair of three-storey "cloud houses" inspired by the pastel colours and art deco curves of 1930s Miami architecture. But will they pass muster as McCloud houses? Kevin monitors a typically tumultuous project.
Sam Smith: Live at the London Coliseum
10.40pm, BBC One
The Grammy/Oscar/Brit winner is on a stripped-back "intimate" tour with a new album, Hazel Eyes, where their gorgeous vocals are front and centre. This specially recorded night at the London Coliseum also closes with their greatest hit, Stay With Me.

Toy Story 5 (McKenna Harris and Andrew Stanton, 2026),
Not particularly hot off the production line – Toy Story 4 was seven years ago – Woody, Buzz and their boxful of plastic friends are back, but WALL-E director Andrew Stanton maintains the franchise's beguiling focus on the joys and pitfalls of childhood. With the retired Woody (Tom Hanks) absent, Joan Cusack's Jessie is the new sheriff in town/bedroom. But she faces an existential threat when her owner, Bonnie, ostracised by her tech-savvy peers, gets a tablet – the superior Lilypad "Lily" (Greta Lee) – and loses all interest in play. While having a dig at society's digital obsessions, it's also a nostalgic eulogy to a world where pure imagination and the capacity to be silly are cherished.
Weirdly, the bestselling novel on which Claire Scanlon's campus romance is based started life as Star Wars fan fiction about Rey and Kylo Ren. Not that you'd know it, save for the involvement in this film of Tom Bateman, Daisy Ridley's husband, who stars as Adam, AKA "Dr Evil", a loathed Stanford biology lecturer. He is persuaded by doctoral student Olive (Lili Reinhart) to pose as her boyfriend, so her best pal, Anh (Rachel Marsh), will date a boy Anh thinks Olive still fancies. In return, he will look more committed to the university and have his funding renewed. Love among the lab coats ensues.
