Trigger Point is returning to ITV for its fourth season in August, with fans nervously awaiting the next nerve-shredding trials for Lana Washington (Vicky McClure).
The bomb disposal expert has pulled off some miraculous rescues in her time on the force, but she's also suffered some devastating losses – including some very close to home.
From wayward brother Billy (played by House of the Dragon's Ewan Mitchell) to one-time beau Thom Youngblood (Adolescence's Mark Stanley), attackers have targeted Lana at every opportunity.
Still, she won't be cowed, continuing to serve the general public with her steely nerve, which compels her to wander into devious death traps in each and every episode – but the latest trailer hints that she could be reaching the end of the line.

Trigger Point season 4 will return to ITV1 and ITVX on 30 August at 9pm.
Episode two will follow the very next day at 9pm.
But, if you'd prefer to binge the series, every episode of season 4 will be made available on 30 August on ITVX.
ITV gave the Vicky McClure series a high-profile showcase during its recent coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026, so the broadcaster is clearly hoping to draw a large crowd to this latest pulse-pounding chapter.
Trigger Point season 4 cast: New and returning
Vicky McClure once again leads the Trigger Point cast as explosives officer Lana Washington, who will face more death-defying crime scenes in the upcoming episodes.
Confirmed returning cast members are (Danny), (Hass), (DS Helen Morgan) and (DCI Batra), while (This City is Ours) and (After the Flood) have been added as guest stars.
Behind the camera, the new episodes are written by Chris Brandon (Bloodlands) and directed by Jennie Darnell (Payback) and Nirpal Bhogal (DI Ray).

Trigger Point season 4 plot: What is it about?
Although the season 4 drop is just around the corner, plot details are still rather scarce for the time being, but the teaser trailer (available below) hints that Lana and her team will be contending with another sinister threat to London.
Currently, the synopsis teases that Lana and her fellow explosives officers "continue their quest to keep the capital safe from explosive devices and terrorist threats", with their latest threat being a group of "professional mercenaries".
All the while, Lana will need to pay close attention to her fraying mental health, having already endured so much loss and trauma over the past three seasons.
