“Red Night” is Njoku’s first new music to follow his EP A WORLD OF BODIES ON FIRE released earlier this summer. On the track, which lands alongside a new music video, Njoku considers questions of mortality and acceptance through his own self-reflective lens.
“The track really feels like a documentation to a very transformative period of my life,” Njoku says of “Red Night”. “I wrote this back in lockdown after one of my oldest friends passed. We used to speak about conspiracies, self determination, spirituality and mythology so frequently during the time and her passing absolutely broke me, and I recall the rollercoaster ride of grief I went on from her passing up until I could ground myself a little bit and make some sense of it all.”
“I had to face and surrender to things I felt in order to work through them,” he continues. “It really changed me, I had to trust that good things would enter my space again, and lucky for me they did.”
