will release new album ‘Ghost Coat’ on January 15th.

The Kate Stables led project decamped to the famed in Wales to work on the incoming album, which lands in the New Year through Rough Trade Records.

Out on January 15th, This Is The Kit – featuring  (bass, keys),  (guitar),  (drums, keys) and Jesse D. Vernon (guitar, keys) – are joined by a flurry of guests on the record.

Revered North East songwriter Richard Dawson appears, alongside , , guitarist brothers  and  (of ) and .

“I was really keen to not only ask people to sing on the album,” says Paris-based bandleader , “but to make sure that you can hear their individual voices. When you hear the voice of someone that means a lot to you, it can destroy you (in a good way) or can make you feel amazing. It makes me happy hearing all the voices, especially because of the themes of friendship.”

New song ‘Skim A Stone’ is out now – a real ear-worm, it blends some of the folk aspects which fringes This Is The Kit’s earlier work with a rugged, full band feel.
