The Pitt star Sepideh Moafi has opened up about what fans can expect from her character in season 3, revealing that she will run a "tight ship".
The actress, who plays Dr Al-Hashimi, joined the cast of the show in season 2 as an interim replacement for Dr Robby ahead of his sabbatical.
But her fate at the hospital was left up in the air in the penultimate episode after Dr Robby insisted that she declare her seizure disorder.
However, following a four-month gap between seasons 2 and 3, "things have definitely shifted", Moafi recently teased to Deadline.
Speaking about her character, she added: "As always, she goes about things responsibly. She’s accountable. She’s taken the appropriate measures to continue working in the ED. And she runs a really healthy but tight ship, and things are going really well under her watch."
She continued: "The whole environment seems to flow really nicely and more easily. And yeah, that gives her a sense of comfort because it’s not like, 'Look what I did.' It’s more like, 'This is how it should be'."
HBO Max stated back in June that production was underway on season 3, while Dr Robby star Noah Wyle previously confirmed that the action will take place in November - a shift from season 2's Fourth of July setting.
"It’s set in early November, just before the holidays, ushering in a whole new set of emergencies and confrontations and complications," he told Deadline.

Wyle previously echoed these comments in an interview with Variety, in which he said: "The only time jump we’re interested in making is to get into a different weather season, to get into a slightly different mode of cases that come with a change in weather.
"If that was summer, then what happens in the winter when you get cold, snow and black ice."
