The Jesus And Mary Chain and The Psychedelic Furs have announced plans for a 2027 co-headline UK tour – check out all the details below.

The two rock titans will be hitting the road for a series of shows kicking off at Leeds O2 Academy on January 19 before wrapping up at London British Airways ARC on January 29.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday (September 25) at 10am BST and can be purchased here. Before that a pre-sale will be held from 10am BST tomorrow with tickets available here.

The latest jaunt follows their co-headline of tour of North America in 2024 which saw both bands perform in various cities throughout the US.

It comes after The Psychedelic Furs had to cancel a series of US dates this summer due to a “serious medical issue” in the band.

The one remaining Psychedelic Furs show still on the schedule will see them perform at the Darker Waves Festival in California on November 14.

Elsewhere, The Jesus And Mary Chain guitarist William Reid recently said Eddie Van Halen “ruined rock guitar”, labelling him one of “the worst guitar players in the world”.

“I think guitar players should never learn scales. I think the worst guitar players in the world, like Eddie Van Halen… I can’t stand Eddie Van Halen’s guitar playing,” he said.

“I think he ruined rock guitar all through the ’80s and ’90s ’cause so many people copied him. And I just couldn’t get any of that playing as fast as you fucking can and cramming as many notes in one second as you could. And I listen to Peter Hook‘s bass riffs, and I think that’s a thousand times better than anything Eddie Van Halen could ever conjure up.”

The Scottish group’s eighth and latest studio album, ‘Glasgow Eyes’, was released in March 2024.

Speaking to ahead of releasing the record, Jim Reid discussed whether he saw the influence of the Mary Chain in current music.

The Psychedelic Furs meanwhile, made a memorable appearance in the fifth and final season of Netflix’s , with their signature song ‘Pretty In Pink’ popping up in the opening episode, .
