The Itch Share New Song ‘Planned Obsolescence’

have shared their new single ‘Planned Obsolescence’.

Out now, it finds the duo moving beyond the indie-dance bedlam of subversive debut album ‘It’s The Hope That Kills You’, locating something fresh in the process.

A summer spent on the road has evidently sharpened their creative instincts, and new single ‘Planned Obsolescence’ finds the Lunn group working with undeniable confidence.

A lean blast of club-focused electronics wrapped around a deft slice of indie songwriting, ‘Planned Obsolescence’ taps in to the tech-aided fears that filter into our daily lives.

Instead of succumbing to the darkness, however, The Itch learn to party through it, locating some form of hope in the process.

“The song itself is about things being designed to break and the feeling that we’re all being built to wear out too; eventually we all become as replaceable as our gadgets,” Simon and Georgia say of the track. “But in the meantime, we can make pretend, have fun until time’s up. It’s a song for people always saying ‘One day…’ but that day never comes.”

Tune in now.
