The Celebrity Traitors: episode two – live

Thanks again for reading along, those of you who did. And for those of you who live abroad and use the liveblog purely as a spoiler-collating device before the episode airs over there, be warned that next week I'm going to start actively lying about whatever happens onscreen just to make you look silly. Spend the week wisely, won't you?

There's only one thing for it. You're going to have to join me back here on Thursday at 8pm for the next episode, which will hopefully be a bit more substantial than whatever the hell this was.

So where does that leave us? Essentially, in exactly the same place as we were this time yesterday, albeit without the eternal joy of hearing Amol repeatedly tell everyone that he's on telly a lot. The traitors are still the traitors. Nobody has banished anyone yet. Maja Jama is still dressed at the thing I fished out of my plughole with a coathanger three days ago.

But guess what? It's going to be a week before anyone finds out, because the credits roll at pretty much the most anticlimactic opportunity. The cliffhanger they're leaving us with is: let's start voting.

This means that there is likely to be a hell of a vote to come, but for now we're left with a bit of damp squib. Nothing of note actually happened in the last hour. Some smalltalk, a mission, a bit of breakfast. A bit of a disappointment, really.

Joe cleverly points suspicion back towards Richard, and all the other comedians back him up. Bella leaps on it and goes laser-focused. If Richard survives this, it will be a miracle.

Joanne goes for the Leigh-Anne angle, as espoused by the soon to be dead Professor Hannah Fry. It catches fire astonishingly well. Meanwhile James Blunt clears his throat and then very confidently gets it completely wrong, suggesting that Hannah was recruited.

I really wish that these people had all seen yesterday's episode. This would be so much easier for them if they had.

Joanne suspects Ross. Romesh backs up Ross. Richard guns for Julie. This is chaotic, especially when they confronted with a man who LITERALLY SAID HE WAS A TRAITOR.

King Kenny throws James Blunt under the bus as the instigator of the Julie conspiracy. Lycett backs her up, though. And then Julie shifts the blame onto Richard, and gives a perfectly watertight argument. Two things from this. First, I still want Julie to be my best friend. Second, they cannot possibly vote for anyone else, can they?

King Kenny goes first, asking Julie if she's a traitor. She denies it, so that's that then.

And now the first roundtable of the series. Joe Lycett points out that nobody has ever got a traitor out on their first attempt, and surely they've got a sitter of an opportunity here.
