And on that yawn-off, it is time for me to say goodbye for another week. Poor Joe! Poor (probably) Jerry! Thanks for all your comments as always. Back here next Thursday?
And, by the way, the editing that led up to the end of the show, intercutting between increasingly tired faces, is worthy of an award. It was like the final sequence of The Sopranos, but expressly about perceived sleepiness. The highlight of the series so far.
And then that's the end of the show. This is incredible. The cliffhanger – a cliffhanger that needs to keep us interested for the whole week – is whether or not Ross Kemp will yawn before Jerry Hall. Amazing. The audacity. I'm honestly very impressed at the guts of whoever made that decision. Full marks.
Jerry is tired. Maya yawns. James yawns. Ross Kemp stares at both of them like he thinks something weird is happening.
Kenny yawns. Sharon's in. Sharon leaves. This is easily the most tense I have ever been waiting for people to yawn.
Jerry walks in and sits down. And then Ross comes in and sits down. Acaster immediately starts asking a lot of boring questions about Texas. Joanne comes in and Maya starts yawning gratuitously.
They spray the spray in the room they're in, and wait for someone to come in to join them. This is a good tactic, because there's no real thought to it. It's going to be an arbitrary murder based purely on circumstance.
King Kenny proves himself to be a less than perfect traitor. On the first step – locating a bottle of spray – he walks around audibly saying "Where is the spray I need to find?" which isn't very mysterious.
Actually, Maya has just done the same thing. What a weird thing to do.
Hang on, here comes a twist. The traitors all find letters, explaining that they have to murder someone in plain site by boring them to death. They have to spray something in a room, lure a faithful into the room, make them yawn and then ask if they are boring them.
It is a twist, but it is a twist. How on earth are they going to pull this off?
Miranda has taken Joe's banishment extremely hard. She's in tears because she misses him, because he allowed her to fool around in ways she hasn't for years. It's actually really touching. I'd like Miranda to win this, please.
