Production has been halted once again on The Batman Part II due to director Matt Reeves being forced to step away from the project for personal reasons.
The long-awaited sequel to The Batman, which will see Robert Pattinson reprise his role as Bruce Wayne, AKA Batman, has already suffered a series of delays over the past few years, with the latest pushing back the release date to February 2028.
Warner Bros and DC Studios announced on Monday (5 October) that production on the sequel is being paused.
“Production on The Batman Part II has been temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter,” a rep for DC Studios told Deadline.
The statement continued: “Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing the journey soon.”

The publication noted it was “too early to say” if the delay will impact the planned release date of February 2028, and fans will have to wait and see.
The sequel to the 2022 blockbuster, which proved a major success after landing in cinemas, will see Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz reprise their roles as billionaire socialite Bruce Wayne, AKA Batman, and Selina Kyle, AKA Catwoman.
