The Canadian group have a lauded catalogue, with their exquisite songwriting roots in their personal truth. The last time we heard from Tegan And Sara was in 2022, with their studio album ‘Crybaby’ gaining huge acclaim.

Back in action, the sisters will support Hilary Duff on tour in 2027, with new single ‘Our Year’ out now.

The song has been in their locker for some time now, beginning as a scratchy bare-bones demo Tegan dreamed up, and sent to producer Felix Cartal. “It had that classic Tegan and Sara feel I’ve always loved—unafraid to be a little cheeky, but totally genuine and refreshing,” Cartal shares.

Lining up the studio session, Tegan And Sara reached out to Vancouver artist Lights, who adds something special to the mixture.

We were hoping to get Lights on the track,” Tegan says. “The moment she came on board, it was clear we were onto something special.”

A bright, buoyant return, ‘Our Year’ sounds a vivid melodic note, while also displaying the continued depth of Tegan And Sara’s songwriting.
