The wait for a new run of Taskmaster is nearly over, with the season 22 release date confirmed by Channel 4, as the latest line-up of comedians prepare to take on Greg Davies and Alex Horne.
Davies and his faithful assistant (and show creator) Horne are back to torment a fresh group of five comedians with the show's trademark blend of baffling challenges and creative chaos.
This season's cast was announced earlier this summer and consists of Chloe Petts, Isy Suttie, Matt Lucas, Nina Conti and Richard Ayoade, and audiences will get to tune into all their Taskmaster shenanigans on Thursday 3 September 2026 at 9pm on Channel 4.
The new season will also be released on the Taskmaster YouTube channel worldwide at 10pm BST on 3 September.

Matt Lucas is best known as the co-creator and star of Little Britain and Come Fly with Me, with further credits including Shooting Stars and Doctor Who, and a stint hosting The Great British Bake Off. Richard Ayoade made his name as Maurice Moss in The IT Crowd, having earlier appeared in Garth Marenghi's Darkplace and The Mighty Boosh.
Nina Conti is an acclaimed ventriloquist and comedian whose long-running double act with her puppet Monkey has toured internationally, while Chloe Petts is a rising stand-up who has built a strong live following and appeared on panel shows such as Have I Got News For You and Hypothetical.
As ever, Davies serves as the all-powerful Taskmaster, doling out points and delivering withering verdicts, while Horne sets and supervises the tasks as the pair's long-running double act continues.
The future of the series beyond season 22 is assured too, with an Oscar winner due to take part next year and Channel 4 commissioning a pilot of a brand new game show "set in the Taskmaster universe" .
