follows Gilbert's debut single "Seven Boats", released earlier this year, with "An Elf in the Modern World" landing as the first preview of the five-track collection of songs.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, Gilbert explains: "It started to scare me that I had once been so free, as if I was someone from a different time. I used to not know the trends of popular culture. I was so happily unaware, not because I was trying to be special but because my interests simply guided me inward and toward another place, to books, to writing, to frolicking in nature."

"I somehow got caught up in the web of consumerism, and became accustomed to the algorithm knowing my thoughts in real time," she continues. "I wrote this song as a way to call her back. The elf in the modern world."

, recorded at Studio Cobra in Stockholm with producer Martin "Konie" Ehrencrona (Viagra Boys, Les Big Byrd) sees Gilbert delve into 1960s psychedelia, early glam rock to hone her sound. She approached the EP with the intention to "leave the door open to wonder".

Following years spent in theatre and playing guitar in Stockholm bands Sticky Baby and The Zaps, Gilbert stepped out under her own name in 2026. She will make her live debut in the UK next month as part of a PNKSLM night at The Social in London on 20 October alongside labelmates Sibille Attar and Gone Future.
