The creators of South Park have announced that the show's new season will run under a new name, South America, in an apparent swipe at US President Donald Trump's recent actions.
Matt Stone and Trey Parker unveiled the change on the show's official social media accounts, sharing an image of the famous South Park sign with the word "Park" swapped for "America".
"Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA," the pair wrote.

The statement went on to roast the show's corporate owner, adding: "We especially want to thank our parent company Paramount, a Skydance Capitulation".
The gag targets Trump's own recent renaming habit, which has included executive orders to change Lake Ontario to Lake America, and the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
Earlier this week, Trump shared an AI-generated video of himself amending a 'Welcome to New Mexico' sign with the word 'America', suggesting the southwestern state could be another on his renaming wish list (via PBS).
However, critics note that the President has no constitutional right to rename the state.
Apple and Google have adopted the Gulf change in their Maps apps for US-based users.
The renaming continues South Park's bruising White House satire, which have included depictions of Trump in an disturbing sexual relationship with Satan.
In response, the White House branded the animation a "fourth-rate" show "hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention" (via Variety).
That attack line is somewhat countered by South Park's recent awards success, nabbing an Emmy for outstanding animated programme for recent episode Sermon on the 'Mount.
The new season is due to premiere on on Comedy Central, before heading to Paramount+ the following day.
