"Movie" follows Soraya Cinema's single "Creepy" released in August. The song was made in one day while Soraya Cinema was at home watching Phantom of the Paradise (1974), with the melodies recorded at his favourite French-Tunisian hookah bar in Paris, Le Droop la Courneuve. The song arrives alongside a music video captured in Tunisia.

Soraya Cinema's songs are described as "confessions", emerging from his time recording music in private, and discovering the world of the UK underground, where he got his start as a producer. Having collaborated with Feng on his debut album, , and released his own EP earlier this year, Soraya Cinema is building on a sound described as "a fantasy as much as a confrontation of reality".
