12 years after Sons of Anarchy came to an end, and three years after spin-off series Mayans MC bowed out, it has now been confirmed that a new series featuring the original show's cast is on the way.
The new show will be called Legends, and it will be a limited series reuniting Sons of Anarchy cast members Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates and Theo Rossi.
However, they won't be back as their characters, such as Jax and Clay - instead, they will be playing themselves, with the series centring around the actors reuniting.
The synopsis for the series says: "When the cast of "Sons of Anarchy" reunites at a fan convention after more than a decade, the line between life and art blurs as the fractured brotherhood finds itself up against a real-world threat more dangerous than anything they ever faced in their show."
The series comes from Hunnam along with How I Met Your Mother and black-ish writer Jonathan Groff, who will serve as executive producers alongside Rob Mac, Nicholas Frenkel and Jackie Cohn.
Nick Grad, FX Entertainment president said in a statement: "When Charlie brought us this inspired idea, we instantly sparked to his bold and entertaining vision. Charlie’s talents are on full display as a writer, performer and executive producer, leading the real-life brotherhood on an adventure that is both a love letter to the series and a fun meta twist on what fans think they know."
The original Sons of Anarchy series ran for seven seasons and followed the lives of an outlaw motorcycle club in a fictional California town named Charming.
That show's creator, Kurt Sutter, who is also the husband of Sagal, has given his seal of approval to the series in a video on Instagram, but has confirmed he's not involved.

He said: "I’m not involved with Legends at all, nor should I be. It has nothing to do with the characters I created or the mythology. It is really about the show and the legacy of the show, and quite frankly, there are thousands of people who are responsible for that legacy.
"Just want folks to know that Charlie came to me early on, when he was in the process of pitching this to the network, to ask for my blessing, knowing that the IP would probably not be able to be invoked for various reasons of legalese stuff, and I gave Charlie my full blessing. I wish nothing but the best for him in this project. My wife is in the project."
Sons of Anarchy propelled Hunnam to international fame, after he had become known in the UK for his roles in series such as Queer as Folk and films such as Green Street. Most recently, he was seen leading the cast of Monster: The Ed Gein Story, while he will also be back for that anthology show's next season, centred around Lizzie Borden.
