Enigmatic metal group have made a rare public pronouncement.

The band are one of the biggest groups in the metal sphere, capable of selling out arenas at a moment’s notice. They’re also notoriously enigmatic, never giving interviews and keeping their identities secret.

Something seems to have irked them, however, with Sleep Token sharing an incredibly overnight.

“A word, for the sake of clarity,” the statement begins. “Sleep Token has no affiliation with any outside musical project that invokes this name, nor with anyone who uses it to promote one.

“Such claims are not made with our blessing and are not endorsed by Sleep Token,” it continues. “What is ours is here, and here alone.”

So who could they be talking about…?

Fans believe the words could be aimed at Arcus, another mysterious project in the metal world. A Reddit deep dive finds that some believe the enigmatic figure has flirted with being somehow related to Sleep Token, although there’s nothing official online.

Sleep Token must feel strongly to break their silence, with this representing their first public statement since the internationally successful album ‘Even In Arcadia’ last year.
