today shares his new single ‘Innocent Smile’ featuring and Suggs of Madness.
Out via Big Smoke Records/Epic, ‘Innocent Smile’ builds on the North London-born artist’s pivot to club-skewed productions, pairing brazen wordplay with a high-octane Big Beat soundscapes – a distinctly British amalgam.
The track continues to flesh out the world-building of new album ‘The Fork and Knife’ — an album shaped by Skepta’s deep connection to the pantheon of homegrown rap, club and electronic genres, from grime and garage to house, jungle and rave.
Earlier this year, Skepta released his transitional EP ‘Mas Tiempo Vol. 2’ and featured on the track ‘Chippie’ by French artist Aya Nakamura.
The accompanying music video for ‘Innocent Smile’, directed be acclaimed director and filmmaker Aidan Zamiri, takes cues from British cinema and cultural ephemera from the 2000s.
Tune in now.
