Disney+ has revealed when fans can expect Rivals season 2 part 2 to begin, while also unveiling a dramatic first look.

The new episodes, which will see David Tennant, Alex Hassell, Aidan Turner and co reprise their roles, will land with three new episodes on 11 November 2026.

Based on Dame Jilly Cooper’s best-selling and beloved Rutshire Chronicles, the action will pick up after the devastating mid-season finale of season 2.

The most recent episode saw Claire Rushbrook's Lady Monica Baddingham meet an unexpected end after leaving Tony. While making her way to tell Declan what she had discovered earlier that day – that her husband had been having an affair with Maud – she was killed when a tree hit her car.

The official synopsis for the new episodes teases that "Tony Baddingham and Declan O'Hara's battle for the Cotswolds crown reaches fever pitch, while Rupert Campbell-Black is forced to confront his own personal demons".

It continues: "Against a backdrop of hedonistic parties, Bonfire Night chaos, the Hampshire Hunt Ball and a turbulent Christmas, affairs unravel, alliances fracture and rivalries intensify.

"Caught in the middle of the frenzied franchise war, Taggie O'Hara must find the courage to follow her heart, while those around her face the consequences of ambition, power and secrets that can no longer remain hidden. But as series 2 draws to a close, who will get their happy ending?"

Alongside Tennant (Doctor Who), who's reprising his role as as Lord Tony Baddingham, Hassell (The Tragedy of Macbeth) who's returning as Rupert Campbell-Black and Turner (Poldark), who'll be back as Declan O’Hara, other main returning cast members in season 2 include Nafessa Williams (Black Lightning) as Cameron Cook, Bella Maclean (Sex Education) as Taggie O’Hara, Katherine Parkinson (Humans) as Lizzie Vereker, Danny Dyer (EastEnders) as Freddie Jones and Victoria Smurfit (Bloodlands) as Maud O’Hara.

Meanwhile, new additions to the cast include Rachael Stirling (Believe Me) as Araminta Pemberton, Lady Monica Baddingham’s younger sister, Rupert Evans (Gone) as headmaster David Hawkley, and Santiago Cabrera (Big Little Lies) as Argentine Polo legend Alejandro Mendoza.

Fans can rest assured that there will be more Rutshire exploits to look forward to too, as Rivals has already been renewed for season 3.
