1, 2, 3 follows a busy year for the band — formed by Marco Pini, Felix Bayley-Higgins, Beth Boswell-Knight and Pedro Takahashi — who released their debut single "Loot / Dox" last year, followed by "5words", "Screwdark", and "Light Over There" released throughout this year. RIP Magic have also toured alongside LCD Soundsystem, Fcuckers, Tame Impala and more.

"Stadium Run" is the latest preview of the upcoming album, and is described as a "carnivalesque" track that captures "sensory overload and spectacle".

1,2,3 is described as an album that never stays in one place, a "rock album" made with live drums, bass, synths, and samples, but no guitars. The collection of songs is built around the idea that one album can contain different worlds, capturing a variety of moods and references and making for an unpredictable introduction to RIP Magic.

Following the release, RIP Magic will continue their extensive tour stint with their first-ever run of US headline shows, with dates in New York and Los Angeles this November.
