Avant-pop riser has shared her new single ‘Zeppelin’.
Out now, the single comes after a particularly fertile spell for the songwriter. Originally from Slovakia, she studied music in Amsterdam and now resides in London, constructing her own creative nexus in the process.
Set to play London venue the Horse Hospital on October 30th, the show will repress how far Petra has come – and how far she could yet travel.
Potent new single ‘Zeppelin’ is a mark in the sand, a statement of intent from an alt-pop maven who works to her own rules.
Conjuring a real spell, Petra flits between vaporous forms, the song made tangible through the emotional impact of her voice.
She comments…
“After another day spent trying and failing, a motionless, tired body and mind thinks ‘Zeppelin’. It is when everything falls on your back one too many times, thoughts buzzing, losing themselves in the chaos of hardship, until, finally, so overfilled, they drip down into a perfectly focused funnel. It is a simple, crystal clear thought of your own insignificance. Outside, a flock of birds chirps away with a song, signifying hope. You drag your bitter self towards them. Watching all this beauty, you find yourself wishing them harm, as if destroying something pure would help your pain pass away.”
Tune in now.
