Preceded by recent singles ‘Wata’ (feat. ), ‘Play This’ and ‘PANE’ (feat. ), ‘STRIKING’ serves as the follow-up to Ovrkast.’s breakthrough 2025 project ‘While The Iron Is Hot’.

On the 12-track collection, Ovrkast. pulls inspriation from Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN’ and Jay-Z’s ‘4:44’, while retaining jazz-influenced, sample-heavy soundcore reminiscent of Madlib, J Dilla and Bay Area innovators.

,  and string arranger  co-created the record with Ovrkast. which was initially envisioned as a expansion of ‘While The Iron Is Hot’ but grew it into a new project over a year and a half. It was refined at a week-long writing camp in Los Angeles with returning collaborators.
