The four-piece wrote “Ten Thousand Feet” with each member contributing parts and sections shaped by live performances. Its lyrics circle a restless boredom and draw on the life of former MLB player Joe Sprinz. The band said the song is “an attempt to explain a certain malaise or boredom that I was feeling at the time, and the sort of restless, unknowing, bird's-eye view anger that comes with that, referencing a story about a baseball player named Joe Sprinz, which we encourage everyone to read if they get the chance.” The TL;DR is that Sprinz attempted to beat the world record for catching a baseball dropped from a great height. It didn't end well.
The single follows the band’s debut LP Anything Can Be A Hammer, released last October via Good English Records.
