WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer is reportedly developing a new Stargate series for Amazon MGM Studios months after the previous reboot was scrapped.
The writer, who is also known for her work on Agatha All Along, Black Widow, and The Hustle, is said to be developing the series as part of her overall deal at Amazon, with a writers room opening in the near future, according to Variety.
She will executive produce alongside Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell for Safehouse Pictures.
Radio Times has contacted reps for Amazon MGM and Jac Schaeffer for comment. Both declined to comment when contacted by Variety.
In November 2025, it was announced that a reboot of the beloved sci-fi series was in development from Stargate veteran Martin Gero - however, that project was later scrapped.

Joseph Mallozzi, who was on board as a consulting producer, said in a statement that he was "heartbroken", while Brad Wright, who set to serve as a consulting producer, said: "Martin and his team were doing amazing work and I wish the world got to see it. I wish I got to see it, too."
A petition from fans was later launched, calling for Amazon to reconsider the decision to scrap the series. At the time of writing, it stands at almost 125,000 signatures.
Shane and Brian Montgomery, also known as the Popcast Brothers, who launched the petition, previously told : "The petition is one of the only ways to visibly show Amazon how many fans there are that want Martin to make new Stargate so we hope we got a lot of signatures.
"The series should be saved because Stargate is one of the most successful science-fiction franchises of all time and frankly we want to see that universe grow and thrive."
The Stargate franchise originally kicked off with a feature film in 1994, and has since spawned multiple series and films.
Stargate SG-1 was recently one of the shows most named by Radio Times readers when asked for the best sci-fi series of all time, coming in at number nine on the list.
