Earlier this year, Italian based sneaker brand Autry unveiled Seo Changbin of Stray Kids as its first ever global brand ambassador. The appointment marks a new chapter of the American brand, renowned for its retro silhouettes and high performance, sport-focused footwear.
Founded in Dallas, Texas in 1982 by footwear specialist Jim Autry, the brand gained recognition in the ‘80s with a tennis court sneaker. Autry’s American collegiate aesthetic became an off-duty staple throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s, fading out before the new millennium. In 2019, four Italian entrepreneurs breathed new life into the brand, reviving Autry for a new generation while maintaining its heritage and roots. This new chapter marks an evolution for Autry, offering a modern interpretation of the brand’s original shoes rooted in simplicity and versatility.
“I am happy to join the Autry family. I’ve always been drawn to brands that honor their legacy while embracing innovation and a forward-looking approach to creativity. Autry’s heritage and understated confidence resonate deeply with me, and I’m excited to begin this journey together” – Seo Changbin says of the partnership.
Debuting in the brand’s Spring-Summer 2026 campaign, Changbin embodies Autry’s classic American prep. Softly lit in soft creams and rich navy blues, Changbin plays with simple varsity styles, mixing them with his own modern, effortless style. “I feel a genuine connection with Autry’s spirit of creativity and passion”, Changbin tells us, reflecting on his new ambassadorship. We caught up with the multi-hyphenate artist to discuss the campaign, working with Autry and how he believes his fans will resonate with the brand.
Autry is stepping into a new chapter on the global stage, what do you hope to bring to the brand?
I believe Autry is a truly appealing brand that has maintained its sports heritage and effortless style for many years, built on a foundation of exceptional craftsmanship. I hope to express Autry’s values, passion, and natural style in my own way through my everyday life. I also hope that, through me, more people will come to appreciate Autry’s unique charm and feel more connected to the brand.
What’s your favourite Autry silhouette and why?
My favorite models are the Medalist and the Hyperway. The Medalist is one of Autry’s most iconic silhouettes, blending timeless design with a modern aesthetic, making it incredibly versatile for any look. The Hyperway, on the other hand, offers a sporty design with exceptional comfort, so I find myself wearing it not only in my daily life but also during rehearsals and concerts.
How do you envision your fans taking on this laid back, cool, retro American aesthetic?
I used to prefer sporty styles that were comfortable and practical, but lately I’ve been drawn to looks that combine that ease with a cool, retro-inspired aesthetic. That’s why I feel such a natural connection with Autry’s style—it perfectly reflects the direction my personal style has been evolving. I’m excited to showcase a variety of looks with Autry, and I hope my fans will enjoy exploring new styles together with me.
How would you describe your personal style?
My everyday style is relaxed with a touch of hip streetwear. Recently, I’ve been wearing basic T-shirts layered with hoodies, along with a baseball cap and sneakers. It’s comfortable, effortless, and a style that best reflects my personality, which is why I naturally gravitate toward it.

How does it feel to see yourself in this campaign and as a global brand ambassador? How does the experience differ from performing?
I’m truly honored and excited to be part of this campaign as Autry’s Global Ambassador. As an artist, I express myself through the music I create and the performances I share on stage. That’s why I felt a genuine connection with Autry’s spirit of creativity and passion. While the stage is where I connect with people through music and energy, this campaign allowed me to express another side of myself through fashion. It was a refreshing and meaningful experience, and I truly enjoyed every moment of it.
