Netflix has confirmed that Guy Ritchie's crime saga The Gentlemen will return for a third season, with the streamer making the announcement as it released the first full trailer for season 2.
Season 2 lands on Netflix on Thursday 3 September, picking up the story across eight episodes that move from the country piles of England to the Italian lakes.
In the trailer, we see the stakes grow ever higher for Eddie (Theo James) as he struggles to be taken seriously, forge new alliances and come up against new and old foes. The trailer also gives us a glimpse of new characters played by Hugh Bonneville, Tyler Conti and Maya Jama.

Ritchie is directing the second season again, with the streamer using the trailer's arrival to reveal that the show has actually been greenlit for a further run.
Ritchie said: "The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded and the consequences carry weight. A third season felt inevitable, and I'm looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further."
The series, created by Ritchie as a spin-off from his 2019 film of the same name, follows Theo James as Eddie Horniman, an aristocrat who inherits his family's estate only to discover it sits atop a sprawling cannabis empire, pulling him into the criminal underworld.
The season 3 renewal comes amid reports linking another high-profile name to the franchise. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was reported just last week to be in talks over a role in a future run of The Gentlemen, with the BBC, CNN and Reuters all noting that Netflix and Meghan's representatives declined to comment.

The discussions were tied to a possible third season rather than the imminent second, and no role was ever publicly identified. Now, with the series renewal being confirmed, we'll just have to wait and see if there are any more exciting cast confirmations to come for the show's third run.
James (The White Lotus, The Monkey), who recently ruled himself out of the James Bond race, leads a returning cast for The Gentlemen that includes Kaya Scodelario (Senna) as Susie Glass, Ray Winstone (Sexy Beast) as Bobby Glass, Joely Richardson (One Day) and Vinnie Jones (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels).
Giancarlo Esposito (The Residence, Captain America: Brave New World) also reprises his role, alongside Daniel Ings (I Hate Suzie), Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear and Pearce Quigley (The Detectorists).
New faces for the second run include Bonneville (The Agency), Benjamin Clementine (Dune), Benedetta Porcaroli (The Leopard), Michele Morrone (The Housemaid), Sergio Castellitto (Conclave), Amra Mallassi (Dune: Part Two), Tyler Conti (Safe), boxer Chris Eubank Jr and broadcaster Maya Jama.
