"Puddle" follows previous singles "Massacre", "Hardness Of A Silverspoon", "Flock Of Swans Fly in V's", and "Mothers Bells". On the track, Murex is joined by Pelle Westlin and Isak Hedtjärn on clarinets as she explores the desire to pour herself into someone else.

"It's about the desire to pour myself into another person — that feels like a very beautiful way of escaping my own existence," Murex explains of the song. "It can feel tempting to melt into someone, but then, you don't have to figure out your own stuff. You just pour into another person's puddle."
