Montreal-born, Portugal-based artist has shared her new single ‘Fool’.

Lifted from her forthcoming debut album ‘Jardim Celeste’, ‘Fool’ is a lilting piece of future folk encapsulating the heightened, confounding emotions that comes with experiencing new love.

Of the single, mokina shares:

“I’m always surprised by what happens when Jeremy and I get in the studio with a two chord progression. The demo of this song was, in my opinion, one of the least convincing of the record and somehow it is coming out as the single. I’m so grateful to be able to work with a team of creatives who bring my ideas to life, both sonically and visually.”

Originally from Montreal but now based in Portugal’s Atlantic coast, mokina has finessed an easy listening sound with a darker undertow. She released her five-track EP, ‘mirage’, last year.

mokina’s hazy sound pulls from the work of Faye Webster, boygenius, Kate Bollinger, TOLEDO and Alice Phoebe Lou.
