The lead single is a club track inspired by resistance to hate and a wish to build something better. It came out of a "frustration with how the world is structured," Conte said in a statement, "with statues built for fascists and monuments raised, literally and figuratively, for the most hateful people. Sometimes I just want to blow it all up, tear it down, destroy it. But that doesn't really change anything; someone just puts up another one and blames you.

"'painting on the monument', instead, gets at the core of what my music and this project are about: playfully and kindly changing the world, step by step. Instead of tearing a wall down, you can paint on it, and maybe that paint cracks the surface and leads to a softer core." Listen below.

The album follows a run of summer sets at Maiden Voyage, Sweden’s Way Out West, and Berlin’s MAGMA, plus the recent mixtape and the many other EPs and singles before it. Conte has Japan headline dates in the calendar before playing EarTH (Evolutionary Arts Hackney) on 21 November. Further UK dates include Manchester Gorilla on 30 October, Glasgow SWG3 on 27 November, and Dublin Wigwam on 26 November.
