The Paris-based, Boston-raised artist wrote, arranged, and produced the majority of herself. The 12-track record brings together her conservatory training in piano and voice with the electronic music she has explored in recent years. It was recorded with Marius Duflot at Studio Nocturnes, mixed by Chris Cohen at his home studio in Richmond, California, and mastered by Mike Nolte (Of Montreal) at Transition Mastering.

"L'amour se construit", the title of the lead single, roughly translates as "love is built". Weikart says the track is "a plea to not only accept but welcome the inevitable messiness that accompanies our emotions around love... perhaps we can find solace in embracing imperfection and the contradictions that lie at the heart of what it means to be human."

Weikart has released two EPs and an album as a solo artist, plus one EP and an album with Parisian artist Beatrice M., under the moniker Beatrice Melissa. She won the 2022 Nancy Jazz Pulsations emerging artist award and the instrumentalist prize at the 2023 La Défense National Jazz Competition. After a summer European tour, including a sold-out Paris date at Jazz à la Villette, she will play Nancy Jazz Pulsations on 14 October, Festival Off Off Off in Troyes on 20 October, Le Ciel in Grenoble on 22 November, Les Femmes S'en Mêlent in Montreuil on 27 November with Momoko Gill, Sowieso in Berlin on 9 December, and Pîle07 in Annonay on 16 December.
