Max Richter’s ‘While The Flood Rages’ Is Typically Masterful

Modern classical composer has shared his new album ‘While The Flood Rages’ in full.

Out now, the new record is typically masterful, with Ritcher – surely one of his generation’s defining composers – continuing to push his art into different places.

A record of contrasting dips and curves, there’s a spiritual bent to the music at time, notably on ‘My Body Is My Earthly Ark’.

Often challenging, Richter’s melodic flair results in a record defined by potent world-building, while the internal structures interweave into something potent and whole.

In addition to this, a listening event has been planned for Friendly Pressure in London on October 17th, with Max Richter also plotting a very special item of merchandise.

A new crossword book has been overseen by the composer – only limited stock is available, and it boasts newly commissioned essays by literary critic and Professor of English Anahid Nersessian and philosopher and author Victoria Trumbull, exploring themes within the work. A digital edition will also be available to members of Max’s community.

Tune in now.
