Marvel's Wolverine sales numbers: How many copies has it sold?

After years of delays, and an initially tepid reception, Marvel's Wolverine is out now, but how many copies has it sold?

The game has sparked some mixed feelings – some think it's too easy, while others are having a blast.

Regardless, it looks like any controversy hasn’t harmed its sales! Here's what we know so far about the Marvel's Wolverine sales figures.

Marvel's Wolverine sales numbers: How many copies has it sold?

At the time of writing, Marvel's Wolverine has reportedly sold an estimated 2.4 million copies.

The data comes from Sony themselves, who released the numbers in their financial results for the second quarter of FY 2026.

But the figures haven’t improved much since the game was first released, as Alinea Analytics’ head of market analysis, Rhys Elliott, estimated the game sold 1.9 million copies three days after launch which accounted for roughly $130m in revenue.

Roughly 1m of those sales were pre-launch digital pre-orders, with 22.9 per cent of the total sales being physical copies.

However, these updated figures put Marvel’s Wolverine at the bottom end of sales for Insomniac Games, as Marvel’s Spider-Man remastered has sold 13.2 million copies and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has sold 10 million, according to the figures.

And, it seems that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales continued this pattern by also outselling Wolverine, with a respectable 6.5 million units sold.

But considering Wolverine’s mixed reception on release yet still being able to secure a decent score of 75 on Metacritic, it’s no surprise that the game has performed worse that Insomniac Games’ previous titles.

Yet despite the high bar that the Marvel’s Spider-Man series set, Wolverine has still managed to be one of the top-performing PlayStation Studios game on PS5 this year, eclipsing the sales and revenue of MLB The Show, Marathon, Saros and Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls.

It also has already overtaken the lifetime PS5 sales of Death Stranding 2, which sold roughly 1.8m copies for a revenue of around $129m.

But that being said, it feels safe to assume that sales will only increase with Christmas coming up, and it will be interesting to see how the title performs as we continue in 2027.
