Comprised of anywhere between seven and ten members, Mandrake Handshake describe their sound as "Flowerkraut" — a mix of Krautrock, avant-pop and psychedelia that moves with improvisation. follows the bands's 2025 debut with "The Tether / Modulo 5" arriving as the latest preview of the upcoming collection of songs, following summer lead single "En Vol".

Discussing the new single, the band say: "'The Tether / Modulo 5' is the Mandrake caught between two states of being. In 'The Tether', she finds herself adrift in the oldest and most treacherous ocean: that of limerance. Here, love is not merely desired but ontological; to be touched is to be witnessed into existence."

They add that "'Modulo 5' is what happens when the equations are abandoned. Three minutes of acceleration, combustion and glorious irrationality; a psychedelic transmission from some alien garage at the end of the world, where the velocity of light was discovered and immediately put through a fuzz pedal."

Mandrake Handshake have played festivals including Latitude, Green Man and Manchester/Brighton Psych Fest, with sold-out London headliners at The 100 Club, the George Tavern and Fabric. They will head out on European dates this autumn, including Misty Fields Festival and a debut tour across France, with plans for UK shows to be revealed.
