The UK singer has been through some changes. Ending a four-and-a-half-year relationship, Mahalia switched up her life, relocating in the process.

2025 EP ‘Luvergirl’ was built in Jamaica, and those experiences triggered a sense of wanderlust; opting for the West Coast, she’s now based in Los Angeles, having travelled 5,500 miles from home.

With her record label deal at an end, new single ‘the 5 stages of heartbreak’ represents a true fresh start.

Out now, it’s a divine piece of alt-soul autobiography, a moment of catharsis that tackles matters of the heart, the grief she feels for past relationships, and the importance of moving forwards.
