Brazilian artist has shared her new single, ‘PUFF PUFF’, out via TRIPLEX NETWORK.
“How do we keep finding each other and stay connected under all this pressure?” LYZZA asks on an airy, atmospheric track that excavates what it means to live with a chronic illness, while grappling with a world where we are constantly connected and exposed.
The kinetic dance track is a refreshing departure from 2024 projects ‘Third World: The Bottom Dimension’ and ‘SUBSTATE’. It comes four years after breakthrough collection ‘MOSQUITO’, released via Big Dada.
Through her output, the Brazilian artist cemented her presence in the avant-garde music spaces as a DJ and producer. From sneaking into clubs at 16 to secretly begin her DJ career, LYZZA quickly ascended to performing in club spaces like Berghain, Fabric and DC10, and high-profile festivals such as Glastonbury, Montreux Jazz Festival, Sónar, Primavera Sound and Pukkelpop.
Along the way, she has worked with artists including SOPHIE, Mykki Blanco, Nicolas Jaar and Amnesia Scanner, and crossed into fashion, art and image-making through collaborations with Mugler and SHOWstudio. She became the youngest artist ever to exhibit work at London’s Serpentine Gallery.
The connecting node running through it all is the way LYZZA treats sound as something mutable: something that can be sampled, distorted, inhabited, weaponised and made intimate.
Tune in now.
