Darts sensation Luke Littler has labelled the European Championship 2026 "the big one" as he hunts history in Dortmund this week.
Littler will take on Ireland's William O'Connor in the first round on Friday as he looks to put some uncharacteristically poor form behind him. The tournament, which is live on ITV4 and ITVX, wraps up on Sunday.
The Nuke is hoping to become just the third player to win all eight darts majors – after Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen – and the youngest to achieve the feat.
Littler's remarkable rise to darts dominance has seen him win 30 PDC singles titles, including the World Championship, World Masters, UK Open, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts and Players Championship Finals.

The European Championship is the only one of the sport's traditional majors that still eludes him and to change that, he will have to deny friend and rival Luke Humphries a first continental crown this weekend.
Humphries, who has wrestled Littler for dominance in the sport over the past two years and won the World Cup of Darts alongside him earlier this year, is close to completing the set himself.
Cool Hand Luke has won six of the eight traditional darts majors but still needs the European Championship and UK Open titles for his own piece of history.
Speaking exclusively to Radio Times ahead of his upcoming live Netflix event, Beat Luke Littler Littler referenced Humphries as he outlined his hopes for the tournament in Germany.
He said: "I don't know how many Luke Humphries needs [to complete the set], but I know he needs the Europeans as well. He recently won the Grand Prix again. Yeah, but yeah, for myself, this is the last one.
"I don't really want to put pressure on myself because ever since coming on tour, I said I wanted to win one of everything, complete the whole set, and then try and win more and more. That's what I've done in a few others. But yeah, the Europeans are the big one."

Next week, Littler will trade the European Championship stage for the Netflix studio as he takes on members of the public live on TV in Beat Luke Littler.
It's more than just reputation on the line, however, as should any of the 20 amateurs beat the world champion over one leg, they will win £501,000.
Littler is hoping the show can help take darts to wider audiences but told he's not focused on changing any misconceptions about the sport.
"Some people say it's not a sport, some people say it is a sport, and there is always talk about Olympics – all that stuff.
"But as a player, you've just got to just got to enjoy it. You just got to get on with it, and yeah, the main thing is to stay hungry for titles."
Beat Luke Littler is live on Netflix at 7pm on Friday 31 October 2026.
The European Championship begins at 6pm on Thursday 22 October and will be live on ITV4 and ITVX.
