London duo have shared new single ‘On My Own’.

The project brings together two special talents – scene-maker, DJ, and songwriter , working alongside , who also produces in and plays guitar in .

The pair have already sparked word of mouth hype, playing an intimate invite-only showcase overnight at Biddle Bros in Clapton – formerly the heartbeat of the so-called Murder Mile, it remains a gloriously down-at-heel community boozer.

Lover1k debuted new single ‘On My Own’ and it’s a beam of light on a dark day – a fusion of hyper-pop colour and pounding dancehall aspects, it acts as both an alluring call to arm and a dismissal of men and their bullsh*t.

Alice handles the vocal, purring: “How can you be like the rest? / Don’t you think I’m the best?”

London duo  assist on production, while there’s also a video directed by Kalisha Quinlan-Davies.

Alice says of the song…

“‘On My Own’ is about how isolating it can feel to constantly be on the defensive as a woman. We grow up watching movies that make us feel like we’re going to meet someone who will think we’re the best person in the world (and treat us as such), but the harsh reality is we spend the majority of our young adult lives getting played. It’s become so normal for guys to love bomb the shit out of us only to realise that’s just part of their routine. This song is about being sick of it and knowing better.”
