"Umami" follows previous singles "I Used To Ride In Limousines" and "Blitzkrieg", and comes alongside the announcement of a UK tour leg in February 2027, which will include dates in Manchester, Birmingham, London, Bristol, Brighton, and more. The single is mixed by Nicos Kennedy (Machine Girl, Femtanyl), and expands on the outfit's creation of a new genre — Götherdammerüng (ÜberGöth).
"'Umami' is the closest thing we've ever written to a club track. Inspired by bloghouse, eurotrash and recession-pop era EDM, it is at once a celebration of the club as a conceptual meta-space for dionysian excess and expenditure, and an indictment of the club in its modern form, where it could not be further from this ideal."
