KILIMANJARO Releases New EP ‘THE ASCENSION (INKAWAMI)’

today unveils his new EP, ‘THE ASCENSION (INKAWAMI)’, via Capitol Records.

Reflective of the producer and DJ’s Zambian heritage, Scottish upbringing and current abode in London, the EP’s borderless feel is informed by a swathe of musicians from across the globe, with the dynamic, driving production taking the listener on an auditory odyseey.

The nine-track collection captures a pivotal moment in KILIMANJARO’s career, exploring the tension between losing and finding oneself, and the fight to maintain inner peace in the midst of internal and external chaos.

The journey opens with the celestial ‘Intro’ ft. his brother, and his sister, , before ‘Back To Earth’ makes its landing in emphatic style, with KILIMANJARO’s immediate vocal work bringing a stark intensity.  then joins on ‘The Haunting’, where piano pirouettes swell into an anthemic chorus. By the time warm levity of ‘Back Home’ arrives, ‘s shimmering vocals carry the EP back into weightless, transcendent territory.

One track in particular frames the EP, ‘Not Like You’, which finds KILIMANJARO and  exploring the disorientation of a breakup, and the visceral ache of loss which permeate daily life.

“‘Not Like You’ came together through real collaboration. After getting the initial demo from DYO, I worked on bringing that KILIMANJARO energy and bounce into the chorus and post-chorus, then got back in the room with her to tweak the verses until we were all happy,” says KILIMANJARO.

To commemorate the release, KILIMANJARO will hit the road next month with a headline tour across UK and Europe, debuting a brand new live format for the first time in his extensive career. Commencing in Berlin on November 11th, the UK leg will see him perform in Glasgow and Manchester, culminating with a performance at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on November 26th.

Tune in now.
