returns with new single ‘Good Guess’.

The Inverness songwriter taps into her Highland heritage on debut album ‘Albatross’, which is set to land on November 6th.

The record moves through different phases of her emotional life, from stark introspection to something a little lighter.

New single ‘Good Guess’ is in the latter camp. Out now, it’s a self-declared “playful and flirty” ode to attraction, and the final performance is actually the first time the ran it through in the studio – it just felt right.

I would never personally want to hook up with anyone who is in a happy, monogamous relationship. But this is the song I’d write if I did. The recorded version of this was a run-through; the first time we played it with the full band in the room. Jeremy had heard the song for the first time that day when Will and I roughly ran through it, and Nick hadn’t been there when the song was finished. A mess, a bloodbath that gave us what might be my favourite capture of the record.

The songwriter steers the video, joined by close friends Ross Carswell and Sam Liu. She adds:

A lot of this album feels quite reflective and earnest, but this song is so playful and flirty, it felt rude not to build a moment around that.
