has shared her new album ‘RUIN: It’s Not Just Music’ in full.
Earlier this year the electronic maverick hosted a special performance at London’s Barbican venue, split between soothing ambience and more club-focussed work.
A dichotomous performance, the set introduced DNB and jungle aspects into her work, accelerating the BPM in the process.
Released via her own label , new album ‘RUIN: It’s Not Just Music’ is – in her own words – “confrontational, almost like sonic combat”.
Fuelled by breakbeat energy, ‘RUIN: It’s Not Just Music’ is conversely one of Kaitlyn’s most personal records. Hugely impressive, it’s out now, with the producer commenting:
“I usually shield myself from thinking about how something will be received because I don’t want it to influence me and my creative process; but there has been a lot more connection through this album with people who listen to my music and with every new single, I’ve been able to reflect just how special it feels to be received as an artist rather than confined to a genre.”
“Connecting with people on a purely creative level rather than feeling like I will need to uphold a specific “lane”, and hearing that those who enjoy the music also enjoy being a part of what is a really personal journey of exploring new sounds and artistic directions is something I’m very proud of.”
Tune in now.
